Park Description: The Edge Skate Park is sited on 1.4 acres of land on the northeast corner of 83rd & 161st. This park is in the city of Redmond's downtown neighborhood. Immediately south and across 161st avenue NE is a Metro Park & Ride parking lot with bus pick up and drop off zones. The skating and boarding area has two large ¼ pipes; on one each side with a pyramid in the center, there is one set of steps, one rail, a rail wall and serveral places and edges to grind. Planned future elements can include a fun box, more steps with a platform, a railway wall to platform, benches, seat walls and vertical extensions. The proposed street elements will most likely be located in one area. Major elements to be added are a bowl and quite possible a snake. These proposed additions are planned for the fall of 2000. Additionally in the park art two art walls for painting. The total paved surface for skateboarding and inline skates is 7,700 sq. ft., all concrete.
