Located at 500 Greenbrier Parkway in Chesapeake City Park next to the
Fun Forest, the facility is open for participants who wish to skateboard
or roller blade. It includes a spine ramp, hip ramp and a three-quarter
pipe. It also features a street area that includes a series of smaller
ramps, boxed platforms, and obstacles that can be moved around to offer
different courses.
Participants must wear safety equipment to include a helmet, knee pads
and elbow pads. Rollerbladers must also wear wrist guards. In order
to use the Skate Park participants must possess a City of Chesapeake
Community Center I.D. card or visitor's pass. (Community Center ID's
are not available at the Skate Park.)
Effective July 1, 1999, the costs of membership will be Youth Resident,
$5; Youth Non-Resident, $20; Adult Resident, $15; Adult Non-Resident;
$35; Guest Pass, $5 per visit. Children age 7 and under must be accompanied
by a card carrying adult.
The facility will be closed during inclement weather and unsafe conditions
.
