Weekdays - school
year - 9:00 a.m. - dusk (w/attendant 3:30 - 7:30 p.m.)
Weekends - school year - 9:00 a.m. - dusk (w/attendant 3:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Summer - all week - 9:00 a.m. - dusk (w/attendant 4:30 - 8:30 p.m.)
Park Rules:
Participation
Guidelines
1. To gain
admission to the skatepark, all skaters must register at the Park Office,
10925 LaPorte Road, Mokena. If under 18 years of age, skater must be
accompanied by a parent or guardian to sign waiver.
Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied to the Skate Park with
a parent or guardian. All skaters must have a photo I.D. taken at registration.
2. The
annual per resident fee is $25 for first family member. Each additional
resident family member will pay a fee of $15 (must be an immedite family
member). Lost/damaged I.D.'s will be replaced for $10. This entitles
skater to unlimited usage.
Annual non-resident
fee is $35. Each immediate additional family member will pay $25 each.
Lost/damaged I.D.'s will be replaced for $10. A non-resident is defined
as someone residing outside the boundaries of the Mokena Park District.
Daily guest passes
will be available for persons without an annual pass for $5. The guest
pass may be purchased at the Park Office during regular business hours
or at the Skatepark. Persons under age 18 must must be accompanied by
parent or guardian to sign waiver.
3. All
skaters must wear I.D. and protective gear(helmet, kneepads, elbow pads
& wrist guards when inside the Skate Park. No exceptions.
4. Persons
failing to adhere to posted Skate Park rules and hours will be considered
trespassing and will be arrested.
Skatepark Rules
Warning: Skating
is a hazardous activity which carries a risk of severe injury.
The Skatepark is unsupervised and Skaters skate at their own risk.
- All skaters,
regardless of age, are required to wear safety equipment - helmet,
knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards. Skaters are required to furnish
their own equipment.
- It is unlawful
for any person to enter or remain in the Skatepark outside the hours
posted.
- This is a restricted
area. No skater is permitted to enter upon or use the Skatepark unless
he or she is wearing a valid picture I.D. Picture I.D.s may be obtained
from the Park District office located at 10925 LaPorte Road, Mokena,
Illinois from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday,
and Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday. The office is closed
on Wednesday and Sunday.
- No skater will
be issued a picture I.D. unless the skater, and his or her parent/guardian
if under 18, sign a written waiver
- Persons entering
the Skatepark without wearing a valid picture I.D. (or entering outside
posted hours of operation) shall be considered to be trespassing and
shall be subject to suspension from use of the
Skatepark for up to one year and/or arrest.
- No skater under
the age of 8 is permitted unless accompanied by a parent/guardian
or other adult.
- Skatepark use
is limited to skateboard and in-line skate use only. Bicycles, tricycles,
and scooters are prohibited at all times.
- Spectators are
prohibited from being in the Skatepark. All spectators must watch
from outside the fence.
- Skating against
traffic on ramps or pipes is prohibited.
- Skating in or
upon areas of Grasmere Park outside the Skatepark, except paved pathways,
is strictly prohibited. Skaters must use caution when skating near
the playground.
- All serious
accidents must be reported to the Park District office immediately
at (708) 479-1020.
- Unsportsmanlike
conduct will not be tolerated:
- The playing
of loud music in or near the Skatepark is prohibited.
- The use of profanity
in or near the Skatepark is prohibited.
- Fighting in
or near the Skatepark is prohibited.
- Reckless behavior,
disregard for the safety of other skaters, and intentional obstruction
of, or interference with, or harassment of other skaters is prohibited.
- Intentional
damage of any equipment, including the use of graffiti or the defacing
or other marking of any equipment or other surfaces of the Skatepark
is prohibited and may result in criminal prosecution.
- No weapons or
makeshift items or modifications are allowed at any time.
- No alcohol or
controlled substances are allowed in Grasmere Park or in the Skatepark
at any time.
- No smoking is
allowed at any time.
- No pets or animals
of any kind are allowed at any time.
- No chewing gum
or other food or drink, or metal or glass containers, are allowed
at any time.
- Broken equipment
or unsafe conditions must be reported to the Park District office
immediately at (708) 479-1020.
- The Park District
is not responsible for loss, theft or destruction of any personal
property brought to the
Skatepark.
- Use of the Skatepark
will not be permitted during electrical storms or during inclement
weather.
- No soliciting
or unauthorized sales are allowed on Park District property.
- Violation of
these rules may result in suspension from use of the Skatepark for
up to one year and/or arrest.
- In the event
the Skatepark rules are not being adhered to, the Park District may
elect to temporarily or permanently close the facility.
